We’ve yet to mention Christmas this year here on morethanmummies.com but having made it to the end of October we can’t hold out any longer! It’s still about 8 weeks until Christmas, but for us, the countdown has started!
We’ve got some wonderful Christmas themed posts and showcases planned over the coming months to help ease you in to the festive spirit.
Morethanmummies.com was kindly asked to review these adorable dribble bibs made by Sew Lomax. And this is our first Christmas post!
When my son was a baby, dribble bibs we’re only just becoming popular and it was hard to find a good selection of bibs to for my baby to wear. And my, oh my, did we need them! My son was a terrible dribbler! To the point where after a few hours the front of his clothes were sodden and I had to change his top, and sometimes his vest too, otherwise his skin would get chapped. Sometimes I had to do this several times a day.
Normal bibs were ok, but they generally only consisted of a single layer of cotton and were too thin and too small to prevent his clothes getting wet. The also weren’t very ‘stylish’, now I know this isn’t the most important thing, but you’ve go to the effort of choosing clothes and dressing baby so he looks nice but then you have to finish it off with a bib designed for eating or drinking which doesn’t necessarily match his outfit.
I was over the moon when I first came across the neckerchief style dribble bibs. They looked good, but even more importantly they were lovely thick cotton and often backed with towelling or other fabric. Everyone always used to comment on how smart my son looked when he was wearing it, they often thought it was an accessory to his outfit rather than a necessity to prevent his clothes getting wet which could make him sore or cold.
Now, four years on there is a wonderful selection of dribble bibs on the market and these Christmas bibs from Sew Lomax are a lovely example.
The front are linen and the backs are a velour towel perfect for soaking up moisture from dribble and they also look great when the festive mood is in full swing and the big day approaches.
The bibs are embroidered with three cute designs, a snowman, a robin, and my personal favourite a reindeer.
I wouldn’t recommend letting baby eat anything to messy while wearing them though as you’d want to keep these cute little bibs white and stain free for as long as possible!
Sew Lomax also sell matching muslins and these would make a lovely Christmas gift for over the holiday season.
